Step inside and admire the rugged cedar and hemlock beams that reach high to the pine board ceiling in the living area. Large windows and a full-size patio door look out over ancient apple trees and a small field were white-tailed deer come to fatten up in the fall. Whip o' wills and woodcock can be heard at dusk and frequently the call of coyotes reaches up from the nearby valley. Our "Tribal Council" area, for exclusive use of cottage guests, sports an Adirondak Leanto, fire pit with wood, and picnic table along our 400-foot nature trail.
Located just four miles from downtown Bar Harbor with its unique shops and fabulous restaurants the Carriage House Cottage is only a mile away from a major Acadia National Park carriage road access point for hiking and biking at Eagle Lake. The free Island Explorer shuttle bus that provides regular service to all island towns and the park passes the property dozens of times daily and happily stops with just the wave of a hand.
